SoloistRecorder is built so that the most sensitive thing about you — the sound of you practising — never leaves your device.
All listening, tuning, transcription, and grading run entirely on your iPhone or iPad. No audio recording, microphone sample, or audio transcription is uploaded to our servers. Our backend has no audio endpoints.
DeepSeek is a China-based provider and may process Pro Coach inputs outside Australia. Its public Open Platform and API documents do not state where downstream API inputs or cache data are stored. The API creates disk-cache prefixes from requests; unused cache normally clears within a few hours to a few days. Its incorporated terms may also permit minimally using strongly de-identified inputs and outputs to operate, develop, or improve its services. We therefore disclose Coach content and interaction for app functionality, product personalisation, and other purposes. Do not send names, contact details, school information, health information, confidential information, or anyone else's personal data.
Read DeepSeek's Open Platform Terms, incorporated Terms of Use, and cache documentation. Its general consumer privacy policy expressly says it does not govern personal data collected through downstream developer apps; this policy is the governing disclosure for Soloist Recorder.
Your lesson progress, takes, recordings, and full practice history are stored on your device. We cannot read them. The only practice result that can leave the device is the short numeric pitch and timing summary described above, after AI Coach permission, when Coach is opened from that graded take.
Typed Coach messages are not stored in our app database or intentionally written to our application logs. DeepSeek's request cache normally clears within a few hours to a few days, but its terms may allow longer retention where needed for operation, improvement, safety, or law. Vercel keeps operational request metadata for a plan-dependent window of no more than 30 days; AWS Lambda logs are configured for 30 days. Monthly Coach counters become eligible for automatic deletion about 70 days after creation.
Soloist Recorder → Toolkit → Settings → Delete server data removes this installation's server profile, entitlement pointers, and purchase memberships, then rotates its anonymous identifier. Limited service-integrity records remain: an active or lifetime purchase ledger is retained while needed to provide access; a terminal refund/expiry watermark is retained for the service lifetime so an old receipt cannot restore revoked access; and a one-way deletion-fence hash is retained for the service lifetime so a deleted identity cannot be recreated. These records are pseudonymous, are not used for advertising, and do not track activity across other services.
Support emails are retained for up to 24 months after resolution unless a legal, fraud, safety, or dispute obligation requires longer retention. You can withdraw future AI Coach processing permission in Settings. For access, correction, or deletion requests, email nora@playsoloist.com with the approximate date and time of the Coach request; we will respond and, where provider cooperation is needed, use DeepSeek's Open Platform support process. You may also contact api-service@deepseek.com, although DeepSeek may need our account-level request to locate downstream API data.
No account, name, email address, advertising identifier, or precise location is required. Remote AI Coach is available only to learners who confirm that they are 18 or older. Under-18 learners can still use on-device guidance, which is unlimited for Pro, and every non-AI learning feature; their Coach text is not sent to DeepSeek.
